RAMMEL CLUB #82.5 - Gnod, Mai Mai Mai, Bismuth @ The Maze, Nottingham. Friday 9th June.

Damn You!, The 593 Collective and Rammel Club come together to present a post-election blow-out with:

GNOD

Truly the most inspiring group/collective/unit to emerge from the planet in recent memory. 10 minutes in their company will convince you that you have the power to do anything. Mentioning 'work ethic' brings to mind worthy-but-dull bands churning it out - GNOD work harder than anyone but the results are anything but dull. They are constant creators, constant agitators, constant developers and their output has such stylistic variation that the idea of musical genres is rightfully condemned to the bin where it always belonged.
The internet describes them as a 'krautrock collective from Manchester' but fuck the internet: this is music with exceptional power and community that shifts and changes before you. It is overwhelming and bewildering but always completely inclusive and inspiring. It is 'post punk' in the true sense of the term.

MAI MAI MAI (IT)

"Born on a little island of the Aegean Sea around 30 years ago.
Since childhood, he followed his parents around Europe and the Near East, assimilating the different cultures, atmospheres and sonorities of the places he was involuntarily taken to. Short periods of time which were intense enough to leave indelible traces. This project is the transposition of those experiences into music and sounds: a mix of drone and ambient, steamy rhythmics, field recordings and sound-scapes which lead us to ancient and arcane ages, on the border between east and west.
After wandering for so long, he's now living in a little village on the Ionic Coast, in the South of Italy"

BISMUTH

Bismuth is the duo of Tanya Byrne and Joe Rawlings and is an exploration of amplified sound designed to rattle the onlooker into submission.

"For convenience sake, think if instead of loving weed and Jesus, OM had taken some kind of acid laced Ketamine, and then asked a banshee to provide vocals."
